Canadian meteorological buoy data are collected by Environment and Climate Change Canada. Complete wave data from all meteorological buoys, models, and unofficial Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC) observations can be found here.

This subset consisting of Lake Winnipeg meteorological buoy data is extracted from the Realtime data from Environment and Climate Change Canada buoys dataset via the Canadian Integrated Ocean Observing System (CIOOS) ERDDAP.

These buoys are seasonal and are placed in the lake at the beginning of the open water season and removed before ice cover in the fall (approximately May-October).
